I passed my final CLEP exam last Monday which gives me all of the credits I need to graduate. I have taken 30 credits worth of CLEP exams and I’ve passed them all by using these study guides. I actually purchased one of the study guides and failed my first test. I didn’t fail because of the guide though, I failed because I didn’t manage my time effectively and I ran short. I looked at the study guide after failing though, and a lot of the information on the study guide was very relevant to what was on the test. So, I tried again with a different test and a different study guide. I passed. This pattern continues for 30 credits. I graduate on June 9th thanks to these guys, so I wanted to share this with the world. The guides were worth every penny. Click Here to Check Out the Study Guides. It is well worth your time and money.

I just wanted to clear up a few things that I wasn't able to include in my personal statements. Yes, I only applied to UC schools. And yes, my channel name is a play on "the Brady Bunch". I didn't study for my SATs because I wanted my scores to reflect my academic competence, not how many SAT classes I took or how many SAT books I read. I do study for exams in school. Synocate is a college mentoring and academic preparation catalyst, founded by Stanford student Ishan Puri. Synocate is based on The Applicant, a book Ishan is publishing with a new method: the perspective method, approaching college admissions essays and the process through a change in perspective rather than quick essay fixes last minute. Also, this approach focuses on activity building and finding real passion, and then communicating that through articulate essays, developed through various writing, reading, and listening exercises. Visit www.synocate.com for more information. |

www.nma.tv Asian-American students applying to elite colleges have a new strategy Don't check Asian. They believe that the college admission process disadvantages Asians overachievers. Some even say colleges set a ceiling on the percentage of Asians in the student population. Is this discrimination? A study on data from 1997 conducted by Princeton sociologist Thomas Espenshade calculates that an Asian student has to score 140 points higher on the SATs in order to have the same chance of admission as a white student. No wonder more and more Asians, especially mixed-raced Asians, are choosing not to identify as Asian on their college applications. But the question remains...why is it still OK to discriminate against Asians in college admissions? |
